Surrounded by family, friends, and staff, P-TECH's first batch of 24 aspiring nurses signed the program's Letter of Intent, preparing for a future in the advanced health science field as certified vocational nurses. I took the first step.
In September 2023, Round Rock ISD announced great news that it had been awarded a grant from the Texas Education Agency to implement an early college high school program in health sciences and technology. Applications for this ground-breaking opportunity will open in February 2024.
P-TECH represents a unique partnership between public and private institutions, including Austin Community College and St. David's Health Care. This program provides aspiring nurses with a free, dual-credit educational experience that combines high school hands-on learning with college courses.
Congratulations to all the students who took the thrilling step of signing their Letter of Intent for the P-TECH Nursing Program.
