Zerodha CEO Nithin Kamath's wife Seema Patil has revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021.In conversation with Dilip Kumar on her podcast the other sidePatil shared how he battled the disease and underwent painful chemotherapy.
Talk about her cancer blog I'm the healthiest person I know, but I got cancer! – Seema, Patil said Kamath wrote it. She also talked about how she realized PET scans were expensive and wondered how the average person could afford them. “A regular PET scan cost nearly Rs 30,000, but the treatment has not started yet,” she said.
Patil, 43, spoke about her treatment and surgery and how the experience changed her. “I was part of Zerodha for a long time, and at that time I felt kind of floating and realized that life is very short. You have to do something that you are passionate about. Something that you truly love, that You have to find something that you really feel passionate about,” she said.
Patil said of her chemotherapy treatment: “Chemotherapy is really bad. When I first went through chemotherapy, I was in shock. I didn't know what was going on. I thought I would rather die than have this happen. But , the second time around, I decided to let him walk a little bit instead of just lying on the couch. That might make a difference, and it did.”
Nitin Kamath revealed in February that he suffered a mild stroke after his father passed away. Kamath shared a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed with a note saying he didn't know what caused his stroke and that his recovery would take three to six months.
