OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Sergei Bobrovsky made 30 saves for his fifth shutout of the season, Matthew Tkachuk had a goal and two assists, and the Florida Panthers defeated the Ottawa Senators by six on Thursday night. We defeated them 0-0.
Panthers coach Paul Maurice holds fourth place on the NHL win list with 865.
“I (once) thought, 'If I could manage 500 games in this league, it would be different,' because I think the average number is about 250 or 350 games,” Morris said. “There's not much to say,” Ottawa star Brady Tkachuk said. “That was embarrassing.”
With Florida leading 5-0 to start the third, Tkachuk chipped in Aleksander Barkov's head-on shot for a power-play goal.
Florida opened up a 2-0 lead with three points in the second period.
Lundell, who was under the goal line, banked a shot that hit Korpisalo's shoulder and made it 3-0 at 2:35. Less than two minutes later, Tkachuk dropped a pass to the trailing Bennett, who beat Korpisalo to end the goalie's night.
Forsberg came on in relief, but Reinhardt scored his 53rd goal of the season with just over two minutes remaining.
The Panthers took the lead 1:02 into the game, when Cousins received a pass on target and beat Korpisalo Kulikov, then made it 2-0 with a shot from inside the blue line 35 seconds later.
