abusive language To those who insist on throwing parties for people who don't want parties. I've told my family many times that I don't want a birthday party, but they don't listen. I don't like crowds, so anticipating this event makes me very anxious. If you really care, you'll listen.
rave to the Washington State Department of Transportation regarding the provision of turn arrows for northbound and southbound traffic at the corner of Northeast 80th Street and Northwest 15th Avenue. We have been waiting for this moment since the construction project was completed several months ago.
abusive language To a driver who failed to slow down, stop, or turn to avoid a pair of ducks crossing the road. In broad daylight, in front of a crowd of people, they ran into a mallard and drove away without mercy. shame on you.
rave To the person who took my credit card the other day at QFC in Linwood and handed it to the cashier. You made my day so much and I am forever grateful.
abusive language For city and county officials to allow public employees to continue working from home. I hate interacting with workers via dodgy video while worrying if they're wearing pants.
rave The City of Issaquah is getting a flashy new “No Red Turn” traffic light. This traffic light is activated by pedestrians or bicyclists crossing Southeast 51st Street using the East Lake Sammamish Trail. This is a clever use of new technology for traffic lights.
abusive language To a restaurant in Seattle that uses Styrofoam. It's been years since the city banned it. There are alternatives that you can easily switch to and do the same thing as Styrofoam. I think we can all agree that Styrofoam has no place in our environment.
rave I consulted an ophthalmologist and was immediately seen for possible serious eye problems. She had “floaters and flashes” in her right eye. Not only was I educated about this and praised for not ignoring my problem, I was also given my doctor's personal mobile number to call at any time if my symptoms worsened.
abusive language To selfish readers who take advantage of the public library's no-fine policy. You are now storing the book until you finish reading it, so the rest of you won't be able to find anything on your bookshelf.
rave To IRG Physical Therapy in Ballard and Seattle Fire Department 18. When I went into cardiac arrest at IRG, the staff immediately started CPR and called 911. Medical personnel arrived within his four minutes and rescued the staff. The only reason I'm alive today is because CPR was started as soon as I collapsed and the Station 18 crew never abandoned me. Knowing CPR made a difference.
abuse and praise Shout out to parents who buy rabbits from breeders to give to their kids at Easter. We recognize that this is a 10-year effort, and we honor those who adopt rabbits from shelters and rescue organizations after researching what it takes to care for them.
rave Special thanks to the water taxi staff who waited for me when I almost missed the boat on a nice day.
