Columbia, Missouri (KMIZ)
Another fire broke out Friday morning on Business Loop 70 in Columbia, this time leaving a firefighter with non-life-threatening injuries.
The department is investigating the cause and origin of Friday morning's fire, according to a Columbia Fire Department press release.
Friday's fire was one of several reported near the Business Loop since Dec. 12, when arson was reported at a storage unit in the 300 block of Nebraska Avenue. Damages from the fire are reported to be more than $100,000. No injuries were reported.
On March 22, a fire was reported at the former Plush Lounge location. No injuries were reported.
Demetrius Woods, who owns Woods Auto Spa near the old Plush Lounge, described his feelings the day of the fire.
“(The fire) was definitely a concern that morning because it was near my building. I woke up at 6 a.m. to come check on it and I kept praying all the way inside. It turns out it's not our job or our food trailer.'' So it’s definitely a local concern,” Woods said.
