NORTHPORT, N.Y. — Eight-month-old kitten Michelle Mar-Bell has been named the Northport Cat Rescue Society's “Kitten of the Week.”
Like the Beatles song, her name means “My Beautiful Michelle.” She was born on August 15, 2023. All of her siblings have since been adopted, but Michelle is still at the shelter, said shelter volunteer Laura Wilde.

“Michelle is a very cuddly child and is often compared to her favorite 'neck scarf' because she curls up on my shoulder and purrs nonstop,” Wilde said. “She's the sweetest, most loving kitten. She loves people, she loves other cats, and she gets along well with dogs.”
Wild said she greets people at the door after a long day and is quick to ask for affection and cuddles.
“Every one of our volunteers who meets Michelle falls in love with her. If you're looking for a kitten to add to your family, this is your kitty! We know she'll love her feline siblings and I want to take her home with her siblings.'' Plus, she's so nice and silly with other cats. ”
Michelle is spayed, up to all vaccinations, potty trained, microchipped, and FELV/FIV negative.
