SAN ANTONIO — Several animals are presumed dead after a house fire on the northwest side.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., the San Antonio Fire Department responded to the 7600 block of Susan Elaine Street in response to multiple reports of a structure fire.
Firefighters were told a pet was inside the home, but the resident was able to escape safely alone.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but SAFD said it appears the fire started in the back of the home and spread to the attic, posing a challenge for firefighters due to the large amount of material that had accumulated inside the building. That area of the house.
The house appears to have been completely destroyed as the roof was completely destroyed by the fire.
SAFD said no other homes were affected by the fire.
