“Creative Leap”
The Sanctuary, a nonprofit community arts and maker center located at 1301 J Street in Arcata, is hosting “Creative Leap” workshops on Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m., and every Monday through May 27. Masu. Costs range from $20 to $25, with lower rates. – Inns are welcome.

cultivation of roses
On Thursday at 7 p.m., a rosarian (rose expert) will give a presentation on fertilizers and mineral deficiencies at the Humboldt Rose Association's regular meeting.
Meetings are open to the public and all are invited. The Rose Society's new meeting location is Redwood Acres, 3750 Harris St., Eureka. The meeting room is located in front of the Raceway Grandstand building. There is ample parking. Door prizes and refreshments will also be available.

family arts day
The Humboldt Arts Council will host “Second Saturday Family Arts Day” on Saturday, April 13th from 2-4 p.m. at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St. in Eureka.
This monthly event is always free. Families are invited to participate in this art-making workshop that complements the museum's ongoing exhibits. These workshops are aimed at intergenerational learning and creation in a museum setting.
Family Arts Day, the second Saturday of the month, offers a variety of opportunities for the whole family to view, understand, and interact with exhibits and art.
On Saturday, everyone will create their own sculptural figures using a variety of natural and machine-made materials. Participants will be treated to mixed media artist Ann Savageau's exhibition Guardians: Spirit of Protection before gathering in the Rotunda for the day's projects, with support and guidance from art educator Genevieve Jesub. You are encouraged to explore and gather inspiration. Everyone is welcome, and all materials will be provided.
Retirement meeting
The next breakfast for Caltrans retirees, spouses and Quarter Century Club members will be held at 9:30 a.m. April 18 at the Village Pantry, 1912 Broadway in Eureka.

dinner concert
DreamQuest's annual dinner concert fundraiser will be held on April 20th at the Willow Creek VFW Hall.
Dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with music by the College of the Redwoods Jazz Band, conducted by Brian Newkirk, from 6 to 8 p.m. Swing dance lessons will be offered from 5 to 6 p.m.
This is a multi-generational event. All proceeds support DreamQuest youth programs. Raffle tickets will also be sold for patio sets donated by Willow Creek Ace Hardware and other items donated by local businesses.
Tickets for this event are $25 for adults and $15 for youth ages 12 and under. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Dream Quest Thrift Store or by calling Dream Quest at 530-629-3564. Tickets will be sold in-store until sold out.
grunge cleanup
Humboldt Grange No. 501 will hold a “Community Cleanup Day” on April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grange Hall, 5845 Humboldt Hill Road, Eureka. You can stop by temporarily or stay all day to help.
Grange Hall was originally built in the mid-1930s. Therefore, we regularly perform maintenance inside and outside the building. Members of the Grange are in the early stages of embarking on a major maintenance project for the site, but for now their focus is on the building and site of the site. There are cleaning and organizing projects indoors, and grounds work and garden work outdoors. Please bring a packed lunch. We will provide light snacks and drinks.
