German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Washington DC and shared with X several photos capturing his visit. One of his photos with US Senator Chris Coons amused people. why? They are strikingly similar to each other, so much so that you can't tell them apart at first glance.
“Nice to meet my doppelgänger again,” the German chancellor wrote while posting the photo. He is pictured looking at his phone while taking a selfie.
A U.S. senator also posted an image while responding to Scholz's tweet. In the photo, they are smiling at the camera. “Wah is wah?” Koons tweeted while posting the photo. Translated from German to English: “Who is who?”
According to the BBC, the two men are relatively similar in height, at around 5 feet 7 inches. Senator Chris Coons is 60 years old, and Prime Minister Olaf Scholz is 65.

The post accumulated tons of comments from people. “Very difficult,” one X user wrote while replying to the US senator's tweet. “Love the photos,” added another. “The similarities are uncanny,” added a third participant. “They look like identical twins,” said a fourth woman.
The Prime Minister visited Washington DC to attend a meeting with US President Joe Biden, the BBC reported. He spoke with the president and “encouraged support for Ukraine,” also stressing the need to send additional aid.
