Cobleskill. NEW YORK — Registration is now open for the 2024 Lifestyle Farming Conference. The conference is his immersive, one-day educational event covering more than a dozen topics related to agriculture and homegrown skills. The event is his Saturday, April 20th, and is hosted by SUNY Cobleskill in collaboration with the Rural Vitality Institute.

With his four levels: 1-hour lecture, 1.5-hour course, 3-hour skill builder, and micro-credential track, everyone from beginners to experienced homesteaders can find something to suit their interests and skill level. Course highlights include:
beer brewing
You know the principles of brewing. Let's begin. This workshop will take a closer look at the process of boiling wort and provide a brewing experience. Unfortunately, it takes several weeks for the wort to ferment and turn into beer.
Bread making (and bread making)
Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked bread! Whether you're new to bread lining or want to improve your methods, this workshop is sure to improve your bread making skills. This hands-on workshop covers all aspects from kneading and fermentation to using fresh grains and sourdough. Participants will take home their own freshly baked bread.
beekeeping
Discover the fascinating world of beekeeping with this hands-on workshop. Over the course of three hours, participants will learn important safety precautions, investigate hive components and bee ecology, and gain practical skills through supervised hive inspections. This immersive experience combines education and adventure and is perfect for beginners looking to embark on their beekeeping journey.
