The property is located near Resonetics' address at 2941 College Drive, according to city documents. It's unclear whether Resonetics is connected to the potential sale.
This news organization has reached out to the city for more information. The proposed sale is scheduled to be considered by the Kettering City Council on Tuesday night.
Jared Barnett and John Kopilchuk are both part of MLPC Capital, according to Kettering records. According to Synergy's website, Barnett and his Kopilchack are both executives at Synergy Building Systems, which has the same Beaver Creek address as MLPC Capital.
Kettering officials said at the time that Synergy and Resonetics were part of a 2021 “partnership” to purchase about 2.3 acres of land at the research park.
The Resonetics expansion at the time was expected to add 95 jobs, generate $5 million in new annual payroll and maintain $7.3 million in existing payroll, according to the state.
The agreement included the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approving a 1.493%, eight-year tax credit worth $570,000 for the expansion, said Lisa Colbert of the Ohio Development Services Agency. That's what it means.
At the time, Resonetics had about 147 employees in a 20,000-square-foot facility on 4.5 acres in the College Drive building it moved to in 2013, according to the city.
Miami Valley Research Park includes 1,250 acres located in Beaver Creek and Kettering. The company employs about 4,400 people in 22 buildings totaling 2.2 million square feet, according to its website.
