KIRKWOOD, Mo. – Hundreds of people took to the Kirkwood Farmers Market on Saturday to celebrate the official start of the season.

“We're having a grand opening celebration today. But we opened last week. Today is the real first kickoff and we're looking forward to all kinds of fun, including games and prizes and sampling of all kinds,” said Dan Mitchell. .
Summit All Seasons Market is rooted in family tradition. Mitchell Clark and Chris Clark's uncle and mother he started this business in 1978.
“She started with very low expectations, just to stand out a little and make a little money at Gray Summit, but she slowly grew over time. She made us very proud. “I think so,” Clark said.
Throughout the Kirkwood Farmers Market, there are many stalls selling fresh produce, artisan crafts, blooming flowers, and traditional goods such as decadent treats.
“We are very passionate about providing the highest quality products possible,” says Mitchell.
Some of the unique items include Marconi chili peppers, handmade soaps, and freshly made pasta from South St. Louis. One of his vendors is Danny Zofness of Divine Blends.
“Our mission is to create a community centered around consciousness, self-awareness, self-love and self-acceptance,” Zoffnes said. “We kind of do it while drinking healthy coffee.
For Mitchell, this is a lifelong passion.
“We're proud of the love we receive from our customers, because they always tell us, 'This is a very special place.'” Thank you for all you do. ”
Despite the cold morning, visitors from a wide range of age groups seemed to be having fun. The Durham family is in town from Maryland.

Kirkwood Farmers Market is open until September 30th, Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. To do. However, the market expands its offerings from fall to Christmas.
“Currently, we also grow local tomatoes in greenhouses,” Mitchell said. “They're pretty good, and we're going into the summer and we're going into the fall. Where we're standing right now is a giant slide in the fall.
