Color is one of the most powerful changes you can make to a space, and a big reason for that is how specific you can be with it. Each color family has endless variations, from cheerful to serene, energetic to serene, contemporary to classic. Whatever your vibe, you'll find the perfect shade.
For Apartment Therapy Lifestyle Director Charlie Penn, that shade is Sherwin-Williams Fading Rose SW 6296. Warm and sophisticated pink is her crush on her 2024 color that evokes an uplifting mood.
Why Charlie Loves Fading Roses
“For me, ‘Fading Rose’ is romantic and optimistic, but also very calming,” she says. “I'm still riding the pink wave for 2023, but I'm obsessed with a moodier, more subtle pink palette this year. Colors like fading rose can be incorporated into any season and are my go-to. Decide on the tone of the calm and warm atmosphere you want to express all year round.”
Charlie loves the sweet effect of fading roses in any room, but there's one room in particular that he thinks stands out. “I love the idea of using this color in her bedroom to introduce a hint of sweet romance without losing the modern feel,” she says.
Due to its modern feel, the shade fits into any design style. “A modern glam decor enthusiast and bohemian, she also likes to flirt with glam, but she loves that fading roses can be used in either decor scheme, seamlessly adapting and sparkling.'' Masu.”
What color did she match it with?
“We wanted to incorporate a gorgeous collection of creamy whites and deeper red/purple tones,” says Charli. “Lately, moody hotel aesthetic bedrooms have been popping up all over my social feeds, so I've been drawn to colors that feel modern yet luxurious. Soft pinks and purples are looming large, and they're very It's romantic and modern. It's also moody enough to feel upscale and maintain its personality.”
