The Colorado Technology Association announced the myColorado chatbot, nicknamed CoCo, as a finalist in the APEX Awards Tech Project of the Year. The award recognizes innovative projects that solve real-world problems, increase value and impact, and demonstrate meaningful collaboration and successful, measurable outcomes.
Winners will be announced during the 2024 Colorado Tech Summit + APEX Awards on Friday, March 8th. The conference will be held at the Grand Hyatt Denver, 1750 Welton Street, Denver.
“As we continue to reimagine how to make government easier and more accessible for Coloradans, the myColorado mobile app provides critical digital government services and explores how government agencies can work together to deliver more state services. We will achieve this goal by illustrating how the digital world can be used digitally,” said the Chief Information Officer. David Edinger.
myColorado™ has 1.3 million Coloradans registered as users of Colorado's official mobile app™. This application is an example of how digital technology can facilitate residents' access to state services.
The main features are:
- Colorado Digital ID™ is an electronic version of your driver's license or state-issued identification (ID) card that provides proof of identity, age, and address within the state.
- The digital COVID-19 myVaccine Record allows users to digitally demonstrate proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
- Colorado Parks and Wildlife Digital Fishing, Combo, and Small Game Licenses.
- Ability to search Colorado sales tax by location.
- This is a place to store important documents such as vehicle inspection certificates and insurance cards.
- The ability to renew your driver's license or state-issued ID and over 20 additional online DMV services.
- Latest information and helpful resources about coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
- Ability to search job information in Colorado.
- Apply for medical, food, cash, and child support with Colorado PEAK.

The chatbot CoCo offers residents different channels to seek assistance, depending on their personal preferences and needs. Options include directly messaging CoCo, live chat with an agent, phone, email, or being directed to the myColorado website.
CoCo responds to approximately 30 percent of help requests for common questions and issues. CoCo helps customers who require advanced technical support from live agents become better and more efficient by reducing wait times, getting quick answers to simple questions, and freeing up live support time for complex requests. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Colorado Technology Association. They have hosted his Colorado Tech Summit since 2001. The Summit is both a technology conference and a celebration of Colorado technology accomplishments.
